Climbing up the single carriageway trunk road from Broadfoot to Portree on the Isle of Skye in the middle of the day. A tanker engine is harrumphing behind us but the bends are to blind for it to pass. (We really didn’t want to be on this road, but the quiet road was closed due to landslide).
Eventually the tanker hits a stretch of straight road and overtakes. Followed swiftly by a couple of retirees in a Suzuki Jimny with two Keeshonds in the back. The ladies beeped on their way past and shouted something angry and mistimed, even though we gave them lots of room. Why?
The bumper sticker on the 4×4 read: ‘🐾 Mischief on Board 🐾’ .
